The missing ingredient we all need

Published 23 days ago • 1 min read

Hey there (and happy Monday)!

In today's newsletter I'm sharing two resources to nourish your body and mind for the ultimate balancing cocktail!

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Vitamin C is needed for the conversion of dopamine (which most of us have too much of these days) into serotonin (which balances mood, helps us feel more content and influences sleep)...
  • Vitamin B1 is also referred to as the "anti-stress" vitamin...
  • Vitamin E has been shown to have a positive effect on hot flashes, vaginal changes and more in postmenopausal women...

These are just a few of the reasons why eating and/or taking your vitamins can significantly transform your health for the better.

There are 13 essential vitamins and I've put together an article that teaches you:

  • the two major types or categories of vitamins.
  • the key benefits of all the 13 essential vitamins.
  • food sources + supplements to cover your nutritional needs.

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

The thing that usually prevents us from reaching our health goals isn't a lack of information about what to do.

And it's not a lack of desire either.

It's usually a lack of self-compassion.

Now, this isn't to point fingers or to say that we don't care about our own well-being.

It's that we're not really taught:

  • what self-compassion is.
  • that showing compassion to ourselves isn't selfish.
  • how compassion differs from motivation and the "just do it" mindset.
  • how compassion can radically show us the path to making lasting changes (whether for the purpose of health or another goal).

This trait is so important, nuanced and it's not always easy to grasp (I'm always evolving my own understanding of it too!).

That's why I'm sharing this video from Dr. Tori Olds, who does an amazing job of explaining all of the above - and more - so that we can actually experience the transformation(s) that we deeply long for.

That's it for today.

I hope have a lovely week and talk soon!

Hey there! It's almost end of March and it's also time to (almost) wrap up our series on cooking oils. So far we've looked at: the nutritional benefits of oils. what's really going on with seed oils. And today I'm going to be sharing a checklist of things to look for when shopping for oils (so that you get the very best quality product for your health). Let's get into it! How to Choose Good Quality Cooking Oils 1. Buy Cold Pressed Most oils on the market are extracted in one of two ways:...

Hey there! A few months ago I got a Pinterest comment from someone who was questioning the fact that I include the consumption of seed oils in an anti-inflammatory diet. On the surface, her feedback made a lot of sense because seed oils - like sunflower and safflower - are considered inflammatory. In fact everyone from popular doctors to wellness influencers talks about how bad these oils are. And if you don't read between the lines, it's easy to be convinced that seed oils are really the...
